WheelMates Achievements Guide: All 21 Unlocked

Quick answer: Steam and SteamDB already list all 21 WheelMates achievement names and global unlock rates — what they don't tell you is how to actually get the trickier ones. The biggest one to know in advance: the duck-collecting achievement wants you to drop all 15 ducks into the Backyard's swimming pool, even though the pool has no water in it. A couple of others are reported by players as inconsistent — see below before you assume you've done something wrong.

This page focuses on the "how," using details from a full recorded playthrough rather than repeating the bare achievement list you can already get from Steam.

Progress achievements (unlock automatically)

Eleven of the 21 achievements are tied to reaching a level or picking up a gadget for the first time — Grapple, Kitchen, Hallway, Magnetic Grabber, Garage, Magnet Wheels, Neuro-Void: Fragments, Paintgun, Phase Shifter, Shed and Backyard. You don't need a guide for these; playing through the full walkthrough unlocks all of them along the way.

The duck achievement — the one everyone gets stuck on

The achievement officially named "Right where they're belongs to be" ("But where is the water?") is, by its own description, written like a riddle. Here's the real answer: it requires collecting all 15 ducks in Backyard — 8 yellow, 7 camouflage — and dropping them into the swimming pool.

The catch, and the part that isn't obvious: the pool is empty. There's no water in it. Players (including the streamers whose playthrough this guide is based on) spend a long time assuming they're missing a step to fill the pool first, when the achievement actually just wants the ducks placed in the empty pool basin itself. If you've collected all 15 ducks and nothing is happening, check that you're actually placing them in the pool rather than somewhere nearby.

For where to actually find all 15 ducks, see the collectibles guide.

Collection achievements

Three more achievements are straightforward collection totals, confirmed against the official achievements list:

None of these have a hidden trick the way the duck achievement does — they're genuinely just full-collection totals. See the collectibles guide for where each type actually spawns.

"Plug into an outlet" — inconsistent, and that's not just you

This achievement's own in-game description reads like a joke — something close to "didn't your parents teach you not to do that?" In the recorded playthrough, both players took a long time to trigger it and weren't fully sure afterward what specifically caused it to pop. Based on that, treat this one as unreliable: if you've done what seems like the obvious action (interacting with an electrical outlet in the environment) and it hasn't unlocked, it may just need another attempt or a session reload rather than a different approach entirely. We're not going to invent a precise trigger we can't confirm.

Achievements that popped late

Two other achievements — "Seek & Scan" (scan all scannable objects) and "Seek & Destroy" (break 50 items) — were confirmed in the same playthrough to sometimes not register immediately even after the condition was met. Logging out and back in, or clearing the current quest list, resolved it in that case. If you're sure you've hit the requirement (all scannable objects found, or 50 items broken) and the achievement hasn't popped, try that before assuming you've miscounted.

The remaining achievements

If something still won't unlock

Given the day-one hotfixes Firevolt shipped specifically for progression and co-op sync issues, achievement tracking was clearly an area with early bugs. If you've genuinely met a requirement and it's not registering, a relaunch or a fresh co-op session is worth trying before assuming you've done something wrong — that fixed it for at least two of the achievements above during testing.
