WheelMates: How Long to Beat and Full Completion Time
Quick answer: WheelMates takes about 6 hours to finish the main story, and around 8 hours for full completion including side content — both numbers straight from Firevolt's own launch FAQ and developer Q&A. If you've seen a much shorter number (like "58 minutes") on a completion-time site, that's not a typical playtime — see below for why.
The official numbers
Firevolt has stated the same completion times in two separate official sources — the launch FAQ and a developer Discord Q&A — which is about as confirmed as a playtime estimate gets before a large player sample exists:
- Main story: approximately 6 hours
- Full completion (all collectibles, all achievements, side content): approximately 8 hours
This matches what a two-person full co-op playthrough looked like in practice for the recording used across this site's guides — a single evening session for the main path, longer if you're stopping to grab every Neuro-Core orb, Memory Card and Backyard duck along the way (see the collectibles guide).
Why HowLongToBeat shows something different
If you check HowLongToBeat.com, you may see a completion time listed as "58 Mins" for WheelMates. That number is almost certainly a single outlier data point — likely a speedrun-style clear or an unusual submission — rather than a representative playtime, and it clashes clearly with the two independent official sources above. We're not using it.
HowLongToBeat's page also lists a North American release date of "September 7th, 2026" — but that's outdated. Firevolt actually moved the release date up to September 1, 2026 (announced July 11), and HowLongToBeat's page hasn't caught up with that change. See the release date page for the full platform and release timeline. Given that the site is working from pre-update information in at least one place, its playtime figure shouldn't be trusted over Firevolt's own numbers either.
What actually affects your playtime
A few things will push you toward the 8-hour end rather than the 6-hour one:
- Collecting all Neuro-Core orbs, Memory Cards and Custom Parts — see the collectibles guide
- Chasing all 15 Backyard ducks for the achievement covered on the achievements page
- Backtracking through earlier rooms once later gadgets open up previously inaccessible areas, which the full walkthrough covers level by level
If you're only playing through once for the story with a partner, expect closer to the 6-hour figure.
